Mustang, Ram booters romp

Medina/Lyndonville and Roy-Hart both rolled to home field victories this evening iin Niagara-Orleans League boys soccer action.

Medina posted a 4-1 victory over CSAT at Vets Park in a contest the start of which was delayed for over an hour by a thunderstorm as the Mustangs improve to 2-1.

Getting goal production from six different players, Roy-Hart bested Albion 8-1 at Gasport to go to 1-1.

In the other N-O contest, Akron boosted its record to 4-0 with a 6-0 victory over visiting Wilson.

Medina /Lyndonville used a fast start and a fast finish to grab a 2-0 half-time advantage over CSAT.

Ben Howell scored in the opening minute off an assist from James Ianni. Ianni then tallied himself with just five seconds to go in the half on a breakaway off an assist from Anthony Pane.

“Those were both big goals,” Medina/Lyndonville Coach Steve Lusksch said. “We came out with a lot of energy. Even after the rain delay we came out strong.”

Pane upped the Medina/Lyndonville advantage to 3-0 when he scored midway through the second half off an assist from Colm Cooper.

CSAT avoided the shut-out by scoring with 17 minutes to go but Medina/Lyndonville got that one right back when Steven Anderson tallied at the nine minute mark.

The loss drops CSAT to 1-2.

Roy-Hart jumped out to a commanding 4-1 half-time advantage as Hans Johnson scored two goals and Josh Baptiste and Lyle Wagner each tallied once.

Noah Plain scored the Albion goal.

Keeping the momentum, the Rams scored four goals in the second half on tallies by Baptiste, Jesus Campos, John Coleman and James DeLorenzo.

Akron was sparked by two goals each by Randy Mayer and Chris Mayrose in the win over Wilson.

Girls Soccer

Kendall 9, Pembroke 0
KENDALL – Two goals each by Maya Rutland and Taylor Rutland highlighted a huge six goal first half which powered Kendall (2-1-1) to a 9-0 victory over Pembroke in a Genesee Region League game.

Taylor ReQua and Taylor Kingsbury also each netted a goal in the first half for the Lady Eagles.

Kristen Jacob, Elizabeth Rath and Alyssa Hering each scored a goal for Kendall in the second half.

Hering and Maya Rutland also each had two assists on the evening.

Field Hockey

The late afternoon thunderstorm forced the postponement of the Roy-Hart at Medina and Akron at Barker N-O field hockey league games. The Akron at Barker game has been re-scheduled for 9:30 a.m. Saturday.

Golf

In N-O golf action on Wednesday, Barker (5-0) defeated Newfane (2-3) 235-254 and Roy-Hart (1-4) downed CSAT (0-5) 259-326.

Alonzo St. Louis took medalist honors with a 40 and Mitch Luckman had a 43 to lead the way for Barker. Paul Tilyou had a 46 for Newfane.

Faye Conley led Roy-Hart with 48.
