Mustang netters shutout Raiders
Staying unbeaten at 9-0 defending champion Medina blanked host Barker 5 1/2-0 this afternoon in a Niagara-Orleans League tennis match.
In singles matches for Medina Kristian Snyder defeated Nick Fazzolari 6-1, 6-1; Mike Cardone downed Jacob Meister 6-1, 6-2 and Nick Bogan bested Christian Young 6-1, 6-1.
The Mustangs also got wins from the doubles teams of Kyla Leno-Andrew Fuller, 6-3 6-4 over Nick Sutch-Jake Harris; Ray Paull-Toby Kiebala, 6-0, 6-1 over Marisa Jowdy-Natalie Bruning and Able Zavitz-Aeddon Cayea 6-1, 6-0 over Mia Gooding-Grace Harris.
Akron 5 1/2, Newfane 0
Singles wins by Nate Chubb, Jacob Meyer and Brandon Meek sparked Akron (8-1) to a 5 1/2 victory over Newfane (0-10).
Holley 3, Alexander 2
A straight set win by the second doubles team of Dalton Thurley and Steven Morgan clinched Holley’s 3-2 Genesee Region League win over Alexander.
Improving to 4-4, the Hawks also got straight set wins from Tyler Hill at second singles and Dylan McKay at third singles.
