Staying perfect at 11-0, Medina put a lock on outright possession of a third straight Niagara-Orleans League tennis championship by posting a 4-1.5 victory over visiting Wilson this afternoon.

Making it 32 straight N-O wins, Medina took the first two singles matches in straight sets as Ben Howell defeated Nate Johnson 6-0, 6-1 and Kristian Snyder downed Dominic Curcione 6-2, 6-4.

The Mustangs also captured the first two doubles matches as the duo of Tristan Sanders-Brian Bogan rallied past Gabe Curcione-Joe Hecko 3-6, 6-2, 6-3 and the team of Nate Pace-Chris Keller downed Kallie O’Lear-Marlowe Recht 6-0, 6-2.

“That clinches it outright and it’s nice to get that one,” Medina Coach Chris Horgan said. “The kids played really well.”

Wilson, which finishes the N-O season at 9-3, took the third singles as Alex Keil downed Xion Baes 2-6, 6-3, 6-4 and the third doubles as Michaele Goodnight and Samantha Redmond outlasted Tom Horgan and Nick Dieter 6-4, 4-6, 6-2.

Medina will close out the N-O season with a makeup match against Newfane next Wednesday.
