Raiders, Hawks also net wins

Two-time defending champion Medina defeated host Roy-Hart 4.5-1 this afternoon to remain unbeaten at 7-0 in Niagara-Orleans League tennis competition.

Medina swept the three singles matches as Ben Howell blanked Adam Clause 6-0, 6-0; Kristian Snyder shutout William Johnson 6-0, 6-0 and Nate Pace downed Elliott Spitzer 6-1, 6-1.

The Mustangs also took the first doubles match as Brian Bogan and Tristan Sanders defeated Mitch Light and David Turrel 6-0, 6-2 and the third doubles as the duo of Tom Horgan and Michael Cardone topped Victoria Benner and Kelsey Eldridge 6-0, 6-7, 6-2.

Roy-Hart took the second doubles match as Melanie Mikits and Quinn Moreland outlasted Carson Zygoda and Chris Keller 6-4, 3-6, 6-4.

Wilson 4, Albion 1.5
Wilson stayed within a match of first place by downing Albion 4-1.5 to improve to 7-1.

Wilson swept the three singles matches as Isaiah Barrett outlasted Andrew Burroughs 3-6, 6-3, 6-1; Nate Johnson downed Dyer Benjovsky 6-3, 6-3 and Dominic Curcione edged Josh Metzler 7-6, 6-4.

The Lakemen also took the second doubles match as Joe Hecko and Kallie Olear outlasted Chris Tabor and Michael Stilwell 2-6, 6-3, 6-3.

Albion, which slips to 5-3, took the first doubles match as Ben Kirby and Kyler McQuillan defeated Gabe Curcione and Alex Keil 6-4, 6-4.

The Purple Eagles also took the third doubles as Cristal Quintana and Dan Beam bested Michaela Goodnight and Marlowe Recht 6-1, 6-1.

Barker 4, Akron 1.5
A sweep of the singles matches by Sean Benoit, Tristan Payne and Brian Hefferson led Barker to a 4-1.5 victory over Akron.

The Raiders also took the first doubles match with a win by Eric and Kyle Herian.

Barker is now 5-3 and Akron 1-7.

Holley 5, 5, Pembroke 0, 0
Holley boosted its Genesee Region League record to 9-2 by scoring a doubleheader victory over Pembroke by identical scores of 5-0, 5-0.

Corey Winter, Ian Penders and Brady Smith each scored a pair of singles victories for Holley.

The Hawks also got two doubles wins each from the duos of Jake McAllister-John Rusin and Dave Sutton-Brandon Moore.
