Mustang netters down Panthers

Improving to 6-1, Medina downed visiting Newfane 4-1 this afternoon in a Niagara-Orleans League tennis match.

Ray Paull at first singles and Kody Leno at third singles both scored straight set wins for Medina which also took the first two doubles matches on victories by the duos of Andrew Houseman-Jonathan Pietrafesa and Ben Zakes-Carter Green.

Newfane’s James Leibring won at second singles.

Defending champion Akron stayed undefeated at 6-0 with a 5- 1/2 win over Albion.

Nate Chubb, Will Chubb and Morgan Wdowka all scored singles wins for Akron.

The Tigers also took the first two doubles matches on wins by the teams of Harry Fitzgerald-Micah Suckow and Skyler Masse-Evelyn Hockreiter.

Albion’s duo of Katelyn Spierdowis and Kolin VanGorder won at third doubles.
