The Medina JV football team defeated Lackawanna, for the second time this year, by a score of 8-0 on Wednesday night to finish the season with a 4-3 record.

William Braswell scored the only touchdown of the game on a pass from Zach Johnson. The Mustangs faced a fourth and goal to go situation from the 28 yard line on that play after penalties looked as if they were going to derail the drive. Justice Hughes added the conversion run.

Blaire Prest led the defense with 7 tackles, as Justice Hughes added 6, and Bobby Geiger added 6 tackles and 2 sacks. The Mustangs forced two key turnovers on defense, including a fumble forced by Blaire Prest and recovered by Lincoln Pace, and an interception by Johnson.

The Mustangs, led by head coach Gordy Luthart, also notched wins over Alden and Cleveland Hill on the season.

Braswell finished the season with 615 rushing yards, 173 receiving yards, and 7 total touchdowns to lead the Mustangs offense. Johnson totaled 470 passing yards and 4 touchdowns through the air, while adding 3 touchdowns on the ground.

Hughes finished as the top tackler, totaling 47 tackles, while Geiger had 35, Blaire Prest 27, Tim Roy 25, and Braswell 25. Chaise Prest also made 20 tackles in just 3 games due to injury.

The Mustangs roster also included sophomores Qilow Snyder, Nick Kepner, Joel Cruz-Robb, Rickie Pitts, Juan Rivera-Nava, and Tavian Rhim; freshman Rylend Callicutt, Colby Petrie, Jaydquan Spivey, Jacob Golding, Sage Skinner, Trent Hess, Nathan Neace, and Isaiah Marsh; and 8th graders Dontea Rhim and Mark Reigle.
