Six returning starters anchor the lineup for the Medina High girls varsity soccer squad which looks to keep up the climb up the Niagara-Orleans League standings ladder.

Seniors Liz Meyer (goalie), Taylor Miller (halfback), Emilee Austin (halfback), Haylee Noreck (forward), Max Wright (defender ) and freshman Kayla Leno (halfback) lead the way for Medina which posted a 4-10 N-O record last season.

“It is a hard working group. The big key is we have to play hard and smart,” said coach Mike Lepkyj. “We have a short bench which is a concern but our summer teams did well which is a good sign and that definitely develops confidence in our players. I think we’re on the right track.”
