Mustang booters edge Lakemen in N-O opener
Medina/Lyndonvlle opened the Niagara-Orleans League boys soccer season on a high note this evening by besting Wilson 2-1 at Vets Park.
The Mustangs jumped out to a quick 1-0 lead when Dan Mandujano scored just 8 minutes in off an assist from Jon Slingerland.
Devin Rounds later netted what proved to be the game winner when he scored with just a minute to go in the first half as Nate Dillenbeck earned the assist.
Wilson scored early in the second half on a goal by Patrick Hemming but the Lakemen could not find the net again.
Newfane 3, Akron 2
Jeremy Foltz, Trevor Heschke and James Marotta each scored a goal for Newfane (1-0) in a 3-1 victory over Akron (0-2).
Roy-Hart 6, CSAT 1
Elijah Girioux, Trent Choate and Noah Stern each scored two goals to lead Roy-Hart to a 6-1 win over CSAT in a non league contest.
N-O Golf
Akron (3-0) edged Roy-Hart (0-4) 257-264 in an N-O match at Shelridge.
Andrew Romesser earned medalist honros for Akron with a 42 and Matt Murzynowski added a 49.
McCarty Lang shot a 44 for Roy-Hart.
