Mustang booters blank Purple Eagles

Exploding for two quick goals in the first seven minutes, Medina/Lyndonville went on to defeat rival Albion 3-1 this morning in a Niagara-Orleans League boys soccer game at Vets Park.

Kristian Snyder gave the Mustangs the 2-0 lead when he scored just 2:17 in off a turnover and again with just 6:36 gone off a corner by Ethan Leonard.

Snyder then completed his hat-trick by scoring again with 12:28 to go in the first half off a nice pass from Trenton Jones to give the Mustangs a 3-0 lead at the break. The goal was his 10th of the season.

Albion avoided the shutout when Nate Fearby scored with just 3:15 remaining in the second half off an assist from Nick Reed.

Medina/Lyndonville improves to 3-1 in the league and 5-1 overall while Albion slips to 2-2, 3-3-1.

Newfane 2, Akron 1
Defending champion Newfane stayed unbeaten at 4-0 by nipping Akron (0-4) 2-1.

Caleb Russell had a goal and an assist, Johnny Costanzo a goal and Max Weber an assist for the Panthers.
