Muckdogs nip State College in 10 innings
The Batavia Muckdogs outlasted host State College 3-2 in 10 innings Saturday evening to increase their Pickney Division lead in the New York Penn League to two games over West Virginia which dropped a 5-1 decision to Williamsport.
The Muckdogs tied the game at 2-2 with a run in the top of the ninth on a ground out and then plated the winner in the 10th on a fielders choice play.
The Muckdogs defense then turned a double play in the bottom of the 10th to preserve the win.
Now at 32-23, the Muckdogs return home for a game at Dwyer today against Mahoning Valley at 5:05 p.m.
