Muckdogs lose but get help to hold lead
Despite a road loss, the Batavia Muckdogs got a little help Saturday to maintain a narrow lead in the Pinckney Division of the New York Penn League.
The Muckdogs dropped a 11-2 decision at Mahoning Valley but got help when runner-up West Virginia was blanked 4-0 by Williamsport.
Batavia at 34-27 still holds a slender half game lead over West Virginia at 33-27.
Mahoning Valley jumped out to a huge 9-0 lead after just two innings and Batavia managed a total of only 4 hits on the evening.
