It will be a special milestone event as the Mr. Ed’s Superbowl WarmUp race at Middleport, which annually attracts hundreds of runners from around Western New York and Canada, celebrates its 25th anniversary run on February 2.

“It is a milestone. It’s hard to describe but it’s special event,” said long-time race organizer Jack Kiebala of the popular race. “Last year we had over 400 participants in the walk and the run and we’re hoping for the same thing this year.”

The event will include a 5K walk at 10:15 a.m. a 1 mile fun run at 11 a.m. and a 5K canal side race at 11:30 a.m.
The events will start and finish at the lift bridge in Middleport and will be followed by a post race awards ceremony.

Registration is at the Middleport Fire Hall that morning or at www.score-this.com. For more information call 585-798-3283.

Sponsored by the Mr. Ed’s Athletic Club, the run benefits the Middleport Volunteer Department Scholarship Fund.

Last year four $750 scholarships were awarded to Royalton-Hartland graduates who plan on furthering their education in law enforcement, emergency medical services including medicine or the fire fighting/fire science fields.
