Monroe County edges past Tri County icers
Scoring the first two goals and the last two, Monroe County trimmed the Tri County Midget hockey team 5-3 today at the Scotsville rink.
Monroe County jumped out to a 2-0 first period lead but Tri County rallied to knot the contest early in the second period on goals by Patrick Ricker and John Pilon.
Tri County retied the game at 3-3 later in the period on a goal by Josh Gimeli but could not take the lead.
Monroe County moved back on top to say at 4-3 on a late second period goal and added an insurance goal on a late third period tally.
Now at 0-5-1, Tri County next visits Batavia next Sunday.
