Monroe CC cagers down NCCC

Improving to 24-1, the highly ranked Monroe Community College women’s basketball team closed out the regular season by defeating host Niagara County Community College 82-69 this afternoon.

MCC, which is ranked No. 8 in the nation in Division 2, led 37-31 at the half.

Albion High graduate Tanisha Moyer led NCCC with 28 points on 11 of 17 from the field and 6 for 6 from the free throw line. She also had 8 rebounds and 2 assists.

Roy-Hart grad Jesse DeWaters chipped in with 9 points, 6 assists and 5 rebounds for NCCC which is now 21-9.

NCCC will open post season play by hosting Genesee Community College at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday in a Region 3 sub regional contest.
