Midget ‘A’ semifinal matchups are set
The matchups for next Tuesday’s semifinal round of the Lockport Midget ‘A’ League playoffs have been set with top seeded Medina to host No. 5 Lockport 2 and No. 2 Lyndonville to entertain No. 3 Lockport 1 in 5:30 p.m. contests.
Lockport 2 advanced by upending No. 4 Roy-Hart 5-3 in the quarterfinals this evening while Lockport 1 survived a scare nipping No. 6 Akron 2-1 in nine innings.
Roy-Hart grabbed a 3-2 lead in the sixth inning on an RBI single by Judd Jamieson but Lockport 2 answered back with three runs in the top of the seventh to claim the victory.
Roy-Hart’s only other runs came on a two-run single by John O’Brien in the first inning.
Ryan Metz also had two hits on the night for Roy-Hart.
