Midget ‘A’ and ‘B’ Leagues set to open season next week

No less than seven local teams will be in action as the Lockport Midget ‘A’ and ‘B’ Leagues begin play next week.

Lyndonville, Medina and Roy-Hart all have teams competing in the six team Midget ‘A’ League along with Akron, Lockport 1 and Lockport 2.

Roy-Hart has two teams in the five member Midget ‘B’ League which also includes Medina, Somerset and Lockport.

The ‘B’ League begins competition at 6 p.m. Monday with Roy-Hart 2 at Medina and Somerset at Roy-Hart 1 as Lockport draws the bye. Medina will then host Somerset at 6 p.m. Wednesday.

The ‘A’ Division opens its season at 6 p.m. on Tuesday with Roy-Hart at Medina and Lockport 1 at Lockport 2.

The ‘A’ League will also play on Thursday with Lockport 1 at Medina, Lyndonville at Roy-Hart and Akron at Lockport 2. Lyndonville will also host Akron on Friday.

The ‘A’ League will play a 15 game regular season schedule with playoffs slated to begin on August 7.

The ‘B’ League will play a 12 game schedule during the regular season and start playoffs on August 6.
