Merged Barker/Roy-Hart mat squad set for debut season

Following up on what has been a very successful merger of the two schools football programs, Barker and Roy-Hart have now also merged for wrestling.
Newfane High graduate Keith Jones is the head coach for the newly merged Barker/Roy-Hart mat squad assisted by John Vosburgh.
Anchoring the underclassmen dominated Barker/Roy-Hart roster are juniors Dylan Mangan and DJ Gardner, sophomore Cameron Swick and freshmen Jake Stern and Brent Bachman.
Bachman finished second at 99 lbs. and Stern second at 106 at the Niagara-Orleans All-League Tournament last year.
“We’re really young but I think we’ll be very competitive,” said Jones. “I think we’ll surprise some people.”
Barker/Roy-Hart is slated to open N-O competition on Dec. 10 at Newfane.
