Medina Broncos and Stallions down Newfane foes; Batavia sweeps Albion in youth football
The Medina Broncos and Stallions both scored wins over Newfane squads in Niagara Orleans Football Association (NOFA) competition on Saturday at Vets Park while Albion was swept by host Batavia.
Medina Broncos 12, Newfane Lightning 0
Christian Moss scores both touchdowns for the Broncos, one on the ground and the other one on a pass reception from MacKoy Hall ,and Stetson Hall put the game away with a fingertip interception late in the game. The defense continues their domination as they put up their 7th shutout of the season.
Medina Stallions 24, Newfane Storm 0
The Stallions scored first with a 42 yard touchdown pass from Cole Callard to Amari Soule and Callard kicked the extra point they go up 7-0. Kaedon Cleveland scored from one yard out and Callard added the kick for a 14-0 lead. Callard then hit a 19 yard field goal to make the score 17-0. Callard later hit Julian Woodworth for a 22 yard TD pass and he added the extra point kick making the final score 24-0.
Newfane Thunder 21, Medina Colts 0
A tough game for the Colts who need this win for the playoffs and while they played very well defensively the offense had a tough day and the Colts drop to 5-3 on the season.
The Beginners contest was only a scrimmage.
Batavia 33 Albion 13
Jayden Rivera led the Albion offense with 96 yards rushing including a 60 yard touchdown. Jamison King had a 12 yard TD run and Brycen Potter added a PAT.
Landyn Galligan had 7 tackles on defense, Rivera 4, Potter had 4 and a fumble recovery.
Batavia 6 Albion 2
A big defensive battle seeing the defense do all the scoring.
A flock of Eagles stopped Batavia in the end zone for a safety in the first half. In the second half a pick 6 for Batavia proved to be the game winner.
Garrett Jones had 19 yards rushing and Boe Preston 8. LJ Simmons had 30 yards receiving and Jack Conn 10 from Jonah Elsenheimer.
On defense Preston had 6 tackles, Drake Schomske 5, Rocco Sidari 4 and Conn a fumble recovery.
Batavia 32 Albion 6
Jayovanni Ostrander had the lone score for Albion on a 57 yard TD.
Noah Harrison had 12 tackles and a interception for the defense. Wesley Olles 7 tackles, Nate Gibson and Logan Kast 5 each.
Batavia 35 Albion 6
Kwame Riley had 65 yards rushing and 65 passing for the Albion offense. Colin Webb a 46 yard TD run, Xavier Byrd 22 yards rushing and Auston Johnson 20.
Riley had 6 tackles for the defense. Makyell Walker had 5 tackles and a interception.
Next week the regular season wraps up with Albion heading to Medina for games at 1,3 5 and 7 p.m.
