Medina/Lyndonville wins U17 opener
Medina/Lyndonville trimmed the host Lancaster/Depew Arsenal 2-1 Wednesday in a boys U17 Division Buffalo and Western New York Junior Soccer League season opening game.
Medina/Lyndonville jumped out to a 1-0 lead early in the second half on a goal by Trenton Jones off an assist from Evan Horn.
Arsenal pulled even midway through the second half but Medina/Lyndonville answered with what proved to be the game winner when Matt Hess scored with 15 minutes to go off an assist from Elian Gonzalez.
In the U19 Division opener, Medina/Lyndonville dropped a 4-1 decision to the Cheektowaga Brigade.
Brian Anderson scored the lone goal off an assist from Greg Husung.
