Medina/Lyndonville U17 rallies for tie

Battling back after giving up two quick goals in the first five minutes, the Medina/Lyndonville U17 team rallied to earn a 3-3 tie with the Cheektowaga Storm in a Buffalo and Western New York Junior Soccer League game at Lyndonville Wednesday evening.

Medina/Lyndonville got it’s first goal halfway through the opening half on a set piece by Elian Gonzalez to cut the deficit to 2-1 at halftime.

Andrew Houseman then tied at 2-2 with a goal just minutes into the second half.

However, Cheektowaga answered to regain the lead 3-2 with a goal with 10 minutes left in the game.

Devin Rounds then made some key saves for Medina/Lyndonville to keep it at 3-2.

Finally, Matt Hess scored the game tying goal for Medina/Lyndonville on a 30 yard shot with only seconds left on the clock.

Medina/Lyndonville lost 4-0 to the host KenTon Americans in a U19 Division contest.
