Medina/Lyndonville U17 posts shutout

A pair of second half goals powered Medina/Lyndonville to a 2-0 victory over the visiting Lancaster-Depew Arsenal Wednesday evening in a Buffalo and Western New York Soccer League U17 Division game.

Snapping a scoreless deadlock, Evan Silversmith scored what proved to be the game winning goal 10 minutes into the second half.

Caelan Holland then added an insurance goal with 15 minutes remaining to lock up the victory as Medina/Lyndonville improves to 3-2-1.

U19 Division
Medina/Lyndonville dropped a 9-2 decision to the host Clarence Inferno Wednesday.

Medina/Lyndonville grabbed an early 1-0 lead on a goal by Kristian Snyder.

Clarence answered with a burst of 4 straight goals but Medina/Lyndonville stayed within 4-2 on a goal by Greg Husung.

However, the Inferno again answered back, this time with a barrage of 5 straight goals, to lock up the win.

This past Sunday, Medina/Lyndonville earned a 1-1 tie with Akron as Snyder netted the lone goal in the first half.
