Medina/Lyndonville U13 posts shutout
Defense was the name of the game as the Medina/Lyndonville U13 club toppled the front running Yemen Oilers out of Lackawanna 2-0 Tuesday.
Strong play by Jack Whipple, Logan Gray, Zaric Boyce and Felix Isaacson aided goalie Zachary Fike in the shut out.
Jackson Moreland scored a goal assisted by Amari Soule in the first half and Wyatt Zelany followed on an assist by Roman Heinsler in the second.
The Medina Lyndonville U11 squad dropped a hard fought game against the Akron Tigers 4-1.
The lone goal was scored by Caden Kingsbury on an assist by Julian Woodworth.
All the action occurred in the second half as strong goal tending by Brandon Christiaansen and support from Elizabeth Whippple, Scott Schultz, and Riley Tompkins kept the first half deadlocked at 0-0.
