Medina/Lyndonville booters post shutouts

Both the Medina/Lyndonville boys and girls varsity soccer teams scored shutout victories this afternoon.

Getting goals from nine different players the boys squad downed Global Concepts 9-0 in a non league game at Vets Park.

Alex Allis, Trevor Hare, Ethan Leonard, Nate Sherman, Kane Flynn, Trenton Jones, Caelan Holland, Renee Masters and Chase Woodward all took turns scoring goals for the Mustangs

The  girls team blanked host Barker 2-0 in a Niagara-Orleans League game on first half goals by Alexis Adams and Anna Lewis.

The Mustangs are now 3-5 and the Lady Raiders 0-9 in N-O action.

In another N-O girls contest, Newfane (8-1-1) shutout Albion (4-4-1) 4-0 as Emily Foltz scored two goals and Megan Mietlicki and Sarah Miczarski one each.  Madalyn Traverse made 10 saves to earn the shutout in goal.

Also in the N-O, Wilson improved to 6-3 by downing Roy-Hart (2-7) 3-0.

In a Genesee Region League girls contest, Holley blanked Attica 2-0 on goals by Julia Smith and Kayleigh Neale. Maddie Papaj made 2 saves to earn the shutout in goal.

Roy-Hart defeated host Wilson 5-1 to improve to 6-2 in N-O field hockey competition as Kateline Corra had two goals and Samanatha Choate, Sydney Newton and Delaney Draper one each.
