Medina youth gridders post wins at Newfane

The Medina Colts nipped the host Newfane Thunder 8-7 and the Medina Stallions downed the Newfane Storm 23-13 in Niagara Orleans Football Association (NOFA) action Saturday.

In the other game, the Newfane Lightning blanked the Medina Broncos 36-0.

Christian Moss had 118 yards rushing and one touchdown  and Preston Woodworth added the deciding two-point conversion pass to Kolton Fletcher for the Colts.

On defense, Avion Johnson had 2 forced fumbles and 5 tackles, Trey Shine 7 tackles and 1 fumble recovery and Fletcher 5 tackles.

Xander Payne had 102 yards passing including touchdown completions of 43 yards to Anthony Monell and 6 to Hayden Woodroe to lead the Stallions.  Payne also ran for one extra point and passed to Monell for a two-point conversion. Aidan Pitts added 45 yards passing and Trenton Muck 63 yards receiving.

Defensively, Zach Oliver had 7 tackles and 1 sack for a safety, Izell Satkowski 5 tackles, 1 sack and 1 fumble recovery, Noah Skinner 5 tackles, Muck 3 tackles, 1 sack and 1 interception and Payne an interception. Muck also had a punt return for a touchdown.
