Medina youth gridders earn split

Medina earned a split with visiting Batavia Saturday in Niagara Orleans Football Association (NOFA) action as the third game was postponed due to lightning.

The Medina Broncos nipped Batavia 21-20 while the Medina Colts lost 27-0. The Medina Stallions game was postponed due to the thunderstorm.

Lavonn Guy had 131 yards rushing and 2 touchdowns for the Broncos as Aiden Pitts added 38 yards rushing, Hunter Stevens 51 yards receiving, a touchdown and a two-point conversion and Trenton Muck 56 yards passing including a touchdown and a completed conversion.

On defense for the Broncos, Guy and Josh Wilson both had 6 tackles, Kaiden Boundonno 5, Oliver Wilson 3, Chris Johnson, Xavier Bloom and Robert Arnold 2 each. Guy, Josh Wilson, Boundonno, Arnold and Oliver Wilson each had a forced fumble while Johnson had 2 fumble recoveries and Wyatt Zelazny, Arnold and Bloom interceptions.
