Medina youth cagers hand Newfane first loss
The Medina youth basketball team knocked off undefeated Newfane today by a score of 38-21.
After leading by a narrow 7-6 margin after the first quarter, Medina used a 15-6 second quarter to gain a 22-12 advantage at the half.
Medina also led 32-19 after the third quarter.
Lavon Guy led the scoring with 17 points. Aidan Pitts added 10, Chris Johnson 5, and Hassan Barulich, Justin Pitts, and Amari Soule 2 each.
Medina is now 4-1 on the season and travels to Batavia tomorrow to take on St. Joseph’s at 11 a.m.
The Medina youth ‘B team’ also played Newfane today, and dropped a hard fought 39-21 game.
Dominic Rosselli scored 7, Hunter Stephens 5, Amari Soule 4, Tre Skinner 3, and Julio Doval 2.
