The Medina youth basketball team, featuring 5th and 6th graders, recently capped an undefeated 10-0 season by winning the league tournament at Akron.

After receiving a bye directly to the semifinals, Medina first defeated Newfane 65-29. In the championship game Akron proved to be more of a challenge, trailing by only five points at the end of the first quarter. However a strong second half allowed Medina to pull away for the victory by a score of 55-32.

The league was made up of teams from Akron, Albion, Barker, Lyndonville, Medina, Newfane, and Roy-Hart.

Medina was led in scoring by Tyler Chinn, who poured in 16 points per game, followed by Brian Fry with an 11 point average and Jarin Rhim with a 10 point average. Latrell Guy and Emmanual Taylor were forces to be reckoned with on the boards, while Zach Blount, Deante Johnson, and Braden Velia provided outstanding defense all season.
