Youth diamond wins for Yankees, Indians

The Woodroe Realty Medina Yankees improved to 3 and 0 on the season with a 7-6 victory over the Somerset Dodgers Saturday in a Major Division game.

Tyler Kroening pitched the first 3 innings and had 6 strikeouts. Cole Callard went the final 3 innings and also had 6 strikeouts.

At the plate, Kroening went 2 for 3 with 2 singles and scored 2 runs, Cole Callard walked twice and had a hit and scored 3 runs, Brody Fry had a double and 2 RBI’s, and Timothy Vasquez, TJ Champney, Kolton Fletcher, and Tyler Allen all added a hit.

Indians 9, Tigers 3
Due to a rain cancelation last Tuesday the Medina Indians  played a make-up game and won 9-3 against the Lyndonville Tigers in a Minor Division contest.

The Indians allowed 3 runs in the first inning then the pitching and defense settled down with strong pitching debuts by Clayton Wagner who hurled 3 innings and Jackson Reese  2 innings.

The Indians bats were hot with a big day at the plate scoring 9 unanswered runs with Jacob Duffina going 3-3 with 3 RBI’s on a triple and two singles. Treyden Rhim went 3-3 with an RBI on a double and two singles. Going 2-3 was Mason Berry with 2 RBI’s on a triple and a single, Zia Dix had 2 RBI’s from two singles, and Ryan Frentz and Clayton Wagner  both had a pair of singles.  Also contributing at the plate were Israel Delgado with an RBI single, Liam Garcia single, and Jackson Reese had a run scored.
