Medina Yanks, Cubs post youth baseball wins

The Woodroe Realty Medina Yankees improved to 5-0, with an 11-7 win against the Medina Blue Jays Thursday.

Brody Fry led the Yankees batting  with a single, double and triple, 2 RBI’s and 3 runs scored. Tyler Kroening added 2 singles, 1 RBI and scored twice. Tyler Allen had 2 doubles and 2 RBI’s also scoring twice, Colton Smith a single and an RBI and stole home base to score one run, Kolton Fletcher a double, Timmothy Vasquez went 3 for 3 and scored once, and Aiden Wisniewski and Jimmy Dieter each scored a run.

Fry and Kroening carried the load pitching. Fry had 8 strikeouts over the first 3 innings and Kroening had 7 strikeouts over last 3 innings . He sealed the  victory in last inning with good defensive play to field ball and a put out a first base.

Braiden McEwen Miller had two home runs for the Blue Jays  one over the left field fence. Brady Christaansen had a perfect bunt that helped score two runs. The Jays also had great outfield play from Avion Johnson who caught a ball at the warning track.

Excellent pitching for the Cubs by Luke Grimes with 8 strikeouts and Vinny Gray with 4 strikeouts.

Great catching by Ryan Pegelow, Frankie Stevens and River Jones.

The Cubs batting included a base hit by Henry Winters, doubles by Frankie Stevens and Ryan Pegelow and a home run by Briley Allen.
