Medina Women’s Softball League playoffs set for Saturday

Regular season champions Orleans Vets in the ‘A’ Division and White Birch in the ‘B’ Division head the field for Saturday’s annual Medina Women’s Softball League playoffs.

The ‘A’ Division playoffs will be held at Jr. Wilson beginning at 9 a.m. with the finals scheduled for 3 p.m.

The ‘B’ Division playoffs will be held at Butts Park beginning at 8 a.m. with the finals slated for 3:30 p.m.

“A’ Division action will actually get underway at 8 a.m. when Banes faces Jr. Wilson 1 in a position round game to determine the No. 2 and No. 3 seeds after the teams finished the regular season with identical 6-4 records.

No. 4 Albion Vets will face No. 5 O’Brien’s in the other opening round contest with the winner to take on undefeated (10-0) top seed Orleans Vets.

The opening round ‘B’ Division contests will have No. 4 Mariachi De Oro vs. No. 5 Jr. Wilson 2, No. 2 Erin Townsend Photography vs. No. 7 Orchard Manor and No. 3 Hojacks vs. No. 6 Jimmy Z’s. The winner of the Mariachi vs. Jr. Wilson 2 game will face undefeated (12-0) top seed White Birch in the second round.
