Medina woman shot and killed at Lockport Halloween party

LOCKPORT – A Medina woman was shot and killed at a Halloween party in Lockport last night, the Lockport Police Department is reporting.

Cheyenne Farewell, a 2018 Medina graduate, was at a large gathering at 43 South Niagara St. Police were dispatched to the site at 12:20 a.m. with reports of shots being fired.

Six people were shot. The other five victims were taken to hospitals for treatment, the Lockport Police Department said.

Medina Central School posted on its Facebook page that at least two of the other shooting victims were Medina High School students.

The Lockport Police are investigating, and requesting anyone with information to contact detectives at (716) 433-7700, or confidential tip line (716) 439-6707.

Medina Central School will have counselors available for all students on Monday.

“Please watch your children carefully for signs of grief and post-traumatic stress,” the school district posted on its Facebook page. “We will have an entire counseling team ready for all students on Monday. If your child needs support, regardless of whether they are virtual or in-person, our counselors will be here to support anyone who needs help on Monday morning.”
