Medina will host Tonawanda on Thursday; Albion to visit Maritime on Saturday

Beginning a very busy regular season ending stretch of three games in nine days, Medina will host Tonawanda in a C North Division contest at 7 p.m. Thursday.

Medina is currently tied for the C North lead with Akron as both the Mustangs and Tigers are 3-0 in the division and 5-0 overall while Tonawanda is 0-4, 0-6.

Quarterback Xander Payne, who has thrown 16 touchdown passes, leads the Medina attack. Greg Thompson has caught 5 of those scoring passes, Joe Cecchini 4, Jarin Rhim and Iverson Poole 3 each and Cayden Lilleyby 1. Noah Skinner and Robert Arnold, who have each rushed for 3 TDs, lead the Mustangs ground attack.

Albion faces a key showdown battle for the B North Division lead as the Purple Eagles visit Maritime on Saturday. The game is now scheduled for 10 a.m. at Wiley Field in Buffalo.

Albion and Maritime are both 4-0 in the division.

Quarterback Amari Jones, who has thrown for 9 touchdowns and rushed for 3 more, spearheads the Albion offense. Javon Jones has caught 4 of those TD aerials, Tyler Gibson and Jahmeek Riley 2 each and Nick Harling 1. Sh’Kwe Riley has led the Albion ground attack with 6 rushing touchdowns.

In another B North Division contest Roy-Hart/Barker/Lyndonville will visit Cheektowaga at 7 p.m. Friday.
