Medina U19 booters top rival U17
Continuing a recent tradition, Medina’s U19 and U17 boys soccer teams met in a non league contest Friday night at Vets Park.
Up 2-1 at the half, the U19 squad emerged with a 4-1 victory.
Thomas Goetze and Anthony Pane scored for the U19 team in the first half while Brian Anderson answered with the U17’s lone tally to keep the contest close.
The U19 team put a lock on the win in the second half on a pair of goals by Josh White.
Both teams conclude their Buffalo and Western New York Soccer League season on Wednesday as the U17 team hosts Amherst and the U19 squad visits West Seneca, both at 6:30 p.m.
Girls Soccer
The Greece Cobras nipped host Kendall 1-0 Friday evening in a Rochester District Youth Soccer League girls U14 Division game.
Kendall finishes the season at 5-3-4.
Holley finished second in the Rochester District U16 girls Division as the result of Hilton’s 5-2 victory over Churchville in the season finale this past week.
Hilton finishes at 8-2-2 (26 points) while Holley winds up second at 7-2-3 (24 points) and Churchville third.
