Medina U12 Fillies down Amherst
The Medina 12U Fillies outlasted the Amherst Thunder Blue 22-18 on Sunday.
The teams traded two run scoring bursts in the opening inning as singles by Ryan Olles and Hannah Kenward triggered the Fillies scoring.
Olles then had an RBI single to highlight a three run second inning which vaulted the Fillies out to a 5-2 lead.
The Thunderthough answered with five in the home half of the frame to grab a 7-5 lead.
However, the Fillies regained the lead for good by exploding for 15 runs in the third inning. A single by Gracie Hughes ignited that uprising which also included an RBI single by Olles and a series of walks.
Fillies pitcher Faith Oberther registerd a solid series of strikes to help end the final inning along with outs from Olles to Hughes.
Olles and Chloe Stinson both had 3 hits on the day, Hughes 2 and Faithann Vanderwalker 1.
