Medina tops Roy-Hart in N-O soccer finale

Quick scoring bursts at the outset of each half sparked Medina to an 11-1 win over Roy-Hart in the Niagara-Orleans League boys soccer season finale this afternoon at Vets Park.

Medina jumped out to a quick 2-0 lead in the first five minutes on a pair of goals by Aleks Seefeldt.

Roy-Hart answered with a goal by Zach Schultz but the Rams would get no closer than the 2-1 halftime margin.

The Mustangs finally opened up a little breathing room with a pair of quick goals in the first five minutes of the second half by Tyler Kroening and Vinny Gray.

Medina closed out the win with seven goals over the final 31 minutes including 5 by Cole Callard and 1 each by Luke Duffina and Jose Angel Flores Cordero.

The Mustangs, which finish the N-O season in the runner-up spot at 7-2-1, have a pair of non league games next week (at Olmsted on Wednesday and at home against CCA on Friday)  before the Section VI playoff seeding meeting next Saturday.

Final N-O Standings – Wilson 9-0-1, Medina 7-2-1, Albion 7-3, Akron 3-7, Newfane 3-7, Roy-Hart 0-10.
