Medina tops Newfane in D Div. lacrosse game

Eight players contributed goals as Medina rolled to a 15-2 win over Newfane in a Class D Division lacrosse game at Vets Park this afternoon.
Cole Callard scored 4 goals and Lucius Wagner and Jake Dunn three each to lead the Medina offense which also got goals from Cam Kenward. Brennan Allen, Deven Byrne, Gavin Dahlhaus and Max Pilon.
Medina jumped out to a 3-0 first quarter lead on two goals by Wagner and one by Callard.
The Mustangs then broke the game open by outscoring the Panthers 6-1 in the second period to up the advantage to 9-1 at the half.
Callard and Dunn both scored a pair of goals during that uprising as Wagner and Kenward each chipped in with one.
The Mustangs led 14-1 at the end of the third period.
Medina, which is now 2-5, next visits Tonawanda at 5 p.m. Friday in another D Division contest.
