Medina tops Lockport in Unified basketball
Improving to 3-0, the Medina Unified Basketball team bested Lockport 35-22 today.
Medina led 6-2 after the 1st quarter 6-2 on baskets by Aiden Cherry, Xavier Moyer and Jackson Tuohey.
In a tightly contested 2nd quarter Medina increased their halftime lead to 6, outscoring Lockport 10-8 in the quarter. Tuohey had 4 while Avion Johnson, Moyer and Steven Secore each added 2.
Medina upped the lead to 11 points by outscoring the Lions 9-4 in the third quarter. Tuohey had 6 and Johnson canned a 3-pointer.
The final quarter had the Mustangs again outscoring the Lions, this time 10-8. Tuohey again had 6, Russell Brunette 2, and Steven Secore 2.
Tuohey finished with 18, Johnson 5, Moyer 4, Secore 4,Brunette 2 and Cherry 2.
Medina’s next game will be the home finale on Friday, May 19, at 5 p.m. against Akron.
