Medina to host Gowanda in Section VI Class D lacrosse playoff opener
Seeded No. 4 Medina will open Section VI Class D lacrossse playoff competition by hosting No. 5 Gowanda at 5 p.m. on Wednesday May 24.
Medina, which brings an 11-5 record into the sectionals, bested Gowanda 20-11 during the regular season.
The winner will likely face top seeded East Aurora in the semifinals. East Aurora will host the winner of Friday’s opening round game betwen No. 9 Tonawanda and No. 8 Wilson in the quarterfinals on May 24.
Friday’s other first round contest will have No. 10 Newfane vs. No. 7 Eden. The winner will visit No. 2 Akron in the quarterfinals on May 24.
