Medina to host Gary Gross Memorial Wrestling Tournament on Saturday

Boasting its largest field to date, Medina’s annual Gary Gross Memorial Wrestling Tournament will be held on Saturday.

A total of 18 schools will be represented in the tournament which is named in honor of Medina Coach Eric Gross’ father who was a longtime supporter of the Mustangs wrestling program.

Perennial powers Fredonia, Niagara-Wheatifled, Pioneer and Newfane from Section VI and Spencerport from Section V head the tournament field which, in addition to the host Mustangs, will include Albion, Holley-Kendall, Lyndonville, Roy-Hart/Barker, Akron, Addison, Amherst, Auburn, Avon/Geneseo, Grand Island, Lew-Port and Lockport.

The tourney is scheduled to get underway at 9:15 a.m.with the finals expected to begin around 5 p..m.
