Medina teams earn Scholar/Athlete honors

FIELD HOCKEY – All 10 Medina High fall varsity sports teams have earned New York State Public High School Athletic Association Scholar/Athlete Team Awards led by the field hockey squad which compiled a composite average of 97.73.14. In front are Hannah Kenward, Rachel Hill, Sadiqua Muhammad, Sophie Cardone, Abby Blount, Dakota Alexander and Alex Strong. In back are Layna Viloria, Grace Cook, Mary Flores, Lacey Kenward, Micaela Erway, Abi Neuman and Faithann Vanderwalker. Missing from the photo is Emma Leonard.

BOYS GOLF – Compiling a composite average of 97.526 members of the Medina boys golf squad have earned a NYSPHSAA Scholar/Athlete Team Award.From left are Aiden Paul, Trevor Luthart, Jack Masse and Ian Wagner. Missing from the photo is Dylan Lonnen. GIRLS GOLF – Medina’s girls golf team of one, Melanie Green has earned a NYSPHSAA Scholar/Athlete Award with an average of 94.7867.

GIRLS CROSS-COUNTRY – Members of the Medina girls cross-country squad have compiled a composite average of 97.3239 to earn a NYSPHSAA Scholar/Athlete Team Award: In front are Ella Dalhaus, Suvi Biesinger, and Emma Schwartzott. In back are Corine Hill, Hannah Heil and Arella Beisinger. Missing from the photo is Ashley Woodroe.

BOYS CROSS-COUNTRY – Compiling a composite average of 95.5871, members of the Medina boys cross-country team have earned a NYSPHSAA Scholar/Athlete Team Award. In front are Jack Cecchini, August Pietrafesa, Isaac Pace and Ethan Stonebreaker. In back are Ethan Page, Gabriel Mark, Alwyn Cayea and Cameron Castanon. Missing from the photo are James Bieliski, Arian Cayea and Ben Griffin.

VOLLEYBALL – Members of the Medina volleyball squad have compiled a composite average of 94.7375 to earn a NYSPHSAA Scholar/Athlete Team Award. In front are Jelia Howard, Jordan Lugo, Elle Gross and Devin Griffin. In back are Janah Drisdom, Evie Schultz, Sydney Watts, Emma Carson and Renee Webber.

GIRLS SOCCER – Compiling a composite average of 94.6889 members of the Medina girls soccer squad have earned a NYSPHSAA Scholar/Athlete Award. In front are Gracie Cogovan, Lily Jo Carpenter, Carina Kingsbury and Emma Roush. In back are Morgan Allis, Selena Austin, Julie Porter and Miranda Zelazny. Missing from the photo are Tessa Boyce, Brooklyn Brown and Kylie Hinman.

FOOTBALL – Members of the Medina football squad have compiled a composite average of 90.5052 to earn a NYSPHSAA Scholar/Athlete Team Award. In front are Robert Morehouse, Caleb Cudzilo, Riley Black, Joe Cecchini and David Wiley. In back are Nate Sherman, Jarin Rhim, Chris Goyette and Bobby Geiger.
