Medina teams earn Scholar-Athlete awards
Five Medina High spring sports varsity squads have earned New York State Public High School Athletic Association Scholar-Athlete Team awards by posting a composite average of at least 90.
The Mustangs squads include softball (99.464 average), girls track (99.332 ave.), baseball (97.571 ave.), tennis (92.948 ave.) and boys track (92.503 ave.).
The student/athletes whose averages contributed to earning these awards are as follows listed by team.
Softball: Paige Adkins, Tessa Boyce, Brooklyn Brown, Lily Carpenter, Miriam Fike, Hannah Kenward, Carina Kingsbury, Kaylee Lacey, Brionna Raiser-Russell, Emma Roush and Rylee VanNostrand.
Girls Track: Dakota Alexander, Tatyana Baity, Andrea Benz, Lydia Fox, Devin Griffin, Corinne Hill, Iyla Lilleby, Haley Marciniak, Madelynn Rutledge, Alexandria Strong, FaithAnn Vanderwalker and Megan Zakes.
Baseball: Joe Cecchini, Zach Fike, Aidan Paul, Xander Payne, Jack Rutkowski, Corey Saj, AJ Seefeldt, Jacob Velesko and Hayden Woodroe.
Tennis: Calyb Grochow, Makayla Heideman, Trey Kinne, Angel Mulcahy, Henry Rigerman and Danielle Schmidt.
