MEDINA – A special thank you to our teacher aides who are making sure that some of the children in our district are going to have a wonderful Christmas.

Every year since 2005, the Medina teacher aides donate $250 to each of our three schools to help students and families in need be part of the Angel Tree Program. The Salvation Army Angel Tree Program helps provide Christmas gifts for hundreds of thousands of children around the country each year. Once children have been registered and accepted as an “angel” their Christmas wish list is shared with donors in their community who purchase gifts of new clothing and toys. The gifts are then distributed to the family to place under the family Christmas tree.

Medina Teacher Aide Association President Gary Scholes says, “We were seeing and hearing that students were only receiving a few presents for Christmas. We love our kids and want them to be happy and excited on Christmas morning. This makes us all feel great.  Even though we’re not there, it’s just a little way we try to make a difference on Christmas Day!”

This beautiful tradition touches all of us and we are grateful for our teacher aides’ generosity!
