Medina took three out of four games from Batavia in Niagara Orleans Football Association (NOFA) action Saturday at Vets Park.

Medina won the Beginners game 31-0. the Mini 7-0 and the JV 19-0 while Batavia took the Varsity contest 28-0.

Beginners
Medina 31, Batavia 0
This game was tight through one quarter with no scoring, but in the second quarter the Ponys took over with a 58 yard TD run from Kaydence Russaw and a 2 yard TD run from Zach Allen to make it 12-0 at half time.

The third quarter was more of the same as the Ponys moved the football well and scored a couple of short TDs again from Russaw and Allen. Allen tacked on an extra point for a 25-0 lead. Cayden Dubois closed out the scoring in the fourth quarter with a 40 yard TD scamper and the defense did the rest.

Great line play from Lucas Miller, Luke Ayrhart, Shane Re, Jace Hamilton and Kyriee Lloyd kept the offense clicking and the defense just kept making plays led by Allen, Russaw, Davey Parsell and Lyric Chinn.

Minis
Medina 7 Batavia 0
In a huge defensive struggle the only score was in the first quarter as Austin Harper hit Bryson Heiligenthaler for a 68 yard TD pass and Damareon Shine ran the ball in for the 7-0 score.

That was it for the offense as Harper did complete some more passes to Ja’Kier Taylor and Shine had some good runs, but penalties pushed them back time and again and the Batavia defense did the rest to hold them down.

The defense had another great day as Xander Groves was in the backfield for almost every play. He was joined by Kyle Bolton, Zachary Smith, Shine and Luke Hungerford who were all over the field making plays. Big stops were also made by Jeremiah Baity-Medina, Taylor, Patrick Grollmes and Xander Crockett who kept the Bulldawgs from making big plays that could have turned the game.

JV
Medina 19 Batavia 0
It was another dominating defensive performance by the Broncos led by Darrell Shine III, Marcel Lamar, Jude Lacy, Caliyah St. Louis and Jaden Luxon who just made tackle after tackle throughout the game.

The first half offense was all St. Louis as she had long TD runs of 75 yards and 48 yards on the end around and Jude Lacy adds an extra point for a 13-0 half time lead. Zia Dix scored from 4 yards out for the final score of 19-0 and the Broncos move to 4-0 on the season.

Varsity
Batavia 28, Medina 0
The Stallions put up a valiant effort and despite the score had a lot of success vs the visiting Bulldogs who were a lot bigger and had twice as many bodies to call on in this contest.

An early interception and return by Hadrian Batista set up a good scoring chance as the Stallions moved the ball a bit, but eventually stalled out and the game settled into a defensive struggle in the first half before Batavia broke of a long run for a TD and then passed for 2 points to make it 8-0 at half time.

The second half again the Stallions had some success, but in the end the Bulldawgs defense was just a bit too much as they scored two defensive touchdowns to make it 20-0 in the fourth quarter.

Preston Woodworth in his season debut had a nice interception for the Stallions.
