Medina swimmers sweep Barker; Albion splits; Roy-Hart teams finish 10-0

Medina closed out the dual meet portion of the Niagara-Orleans League swim season with a doubleheader victory at Barker this morning.

The Seahorses won the boys’ meet 94-69 and the girls’ competition 124-32.

Hunter Heil won the 50 Freestyle, Michael Marker the 100 Butterfly, Gabe Mark the 500 Free and August Pietrafesa the 100 Backstroke for the Seahorses.

Medina finishes the regular season at 6-3-1 and Barker at 2-8.

Hannah Heil doubled in the 200 Free and 50 Free and Margaret Klotzbach in the 500 Free and Backstroke for the Medina girls which also had Brooklynn Brown win the 200 Individual Medley, Sydney Watts the 100 Breaststroke and Amanda Woodruff the 100 Butterfly.

Medina finishes at 4-6 and Barker at 0-10.

Albion split with Akron as the Purple Eagles won the boys’ meet 110-62 and the TigerSharks the girls’ competition 95-65.

Chase Froman was a double winner in the 200 Free and 100 Free as was Thomas Furmanski in the 50 Free and 100 Backstroke for Albion as Josh DePoty took the 500 Free and Sam Sanchez the 100 Butterfly.

Albion winds up at 7-2-1 and Akron at 1-9.

The Akron girls finish at 8-2 and Albion at 2-8.

The Roy-Hart teams both completed 10-0 championship seasons with wins over Newfane. The boys won 112-43 and the girls 93-63. It is the Channel Cats first dual swim championship season in 26 years.

Anna Rickard doubled in the 200 Free and 100 Free and Kayla Hagen in the 50 Free and 100 Breaststroke to lead the Roy-Hart girls.

The Newfane boys finish at 3-7 and the girls 6-4.
