Medina swimmers split with Akron

The Medina boys swim team romped to a 122-51 victory at Akron this afternoon in a Niagara-Orleans League meet.

Chase Pecoraro was a double winner in the 200 freestyle and 100 breaststroke and Austin Heil in the 50 free and 500 free to lead the way for Medina.

Improving to 2-0, the Seahorses also had Austin Brown win the 100 butterfly, Daniel Heil the 100 backstroke and Derek Donley the 100 freestyle.

Akron did earn a split on the day by defeating Medina 91-79 in the girls meet.

Emma Gardner and Andrea Toussaint were both double winners for Medina which slips to 0-2.
