Medina sweeps softball twin bill

Medina swept to a doubleheader victory over visiting CSAT by scores of 15-3 and 17-0 at Vets Park this evening to improve to 6-3 in Niagara-Orleans League softball competition.

Emily Kams and Ryenn Oliver shared the pitching chores in both games registering a total of 7 strikeouts in each contest.

In the opener, Kams banged out 4 hits as Alisha Scroger and Davina Birch both had 2.

In the second game, Courtney Bailey had 3 hits, including a home run, as Kams and Scroger both had 2. Scroger’s hits included a double.

The losses drop CSAT to 0-10.

Roy-Hart 20, Wilson 12
Scoring in six different innings, Roy-Hart posted a 20-12 victory over Wilson to improve to 8-2.

Jamie Bower had 4 hits and 4 RBIs, Jayden Townsend 3 hits, including a double and 3 RBIs, and Kayla Brown three hits, including a home run, to lead the Lady Rams attack.

The loss drops Wlson to 2-7.

Newfane 7, Albion 1
A five run fifth inning scoring burst, highlighted by a two-run double by Alexa Littman, keyed Newfane’s (6-4) win over Albion (5-5).

Cassidy Geise picked up the win i nthe circle allowing 4 hits.

Akron 12, Barker 3
League leading Akron improved to 9-1 as Abby Stone and Sarah Schultz led the way with 2 hits apiece.

Barker is now 3-7.
