Medina sweeps Holley in youth football
Medina 4-0 4-0 against visiting Holley in Niagara Orleans Football Association (NOFA) competition Saturday.
Beginners Division
Medina 32, Holley 0
Improving to 4-0 the Medina Ponys downed the Holley Hawks 32-0 in an 8 man contest.
Damareon Shine opened the scoring with a 27 yard touchdown run and Remi Avery ran in the extra point. Shine added another TD from 45 yards out to make it 13-0 at halftime.
In the third quarter the Ponys offense saw Allen run for 38 yards and a TD and Shine added his third of the game from 35 yards out. Luke Hungerford broke a 73 yard TD run in the 4th quarter and Shine running in the extra point.
Mini Division
Medina 42, Holley 6
The Colts got their first win of the season 42-6 over the Hawks.
In the first quarter Liam Sknowneski had a 6 yard TD run and also caught the 2 point pass from Tyler Draper. Marcel Lamar added a 15 yard TD run and Jeremiah Baity-Medina ran in the extra point for a 15-0 lead. In the second quarter Lamar added a 41 yard TD run and Javeon Wills a 25 yard TD run.
In the second half Patrick Grollmes ran 20 yards and a TD and Draper hit Skowneski for the 2 point conversion. Then Ja’Keir Taylor added a 64 yard TD run and Draper finishes the scoring with an extra point run.
JV Division
No game due to lack of numbers for Holley so a 2-0 forfeit win for the Broncos.
Varsity Division
Stallions 16, Hawks 0
A touchdown in each half proved to be enough as the Stallions trimmed the Hawks 16-0.
In the first half Avion Johnson had a 3 yard TD run and Tre Shine caught the 2 point conversion from Preston Woodworth. In the second half Christian Moss pushed one in from the 2 yard line and Woodworth hits Colton Fletcher for the 2 point conversion.
