Seeded No. 7, Medina will host No. 10 Wilson at 4:30 p.m. Friday in the opening round of the Section VI Class C lacrosse playoffs.

Medina defeated Wilson twice during the regular season by scores of 20-3 and 19-0.

The Mustangs bring an 8-8 record into the sectionals after Section V awarded Medina a 1-0 forfeit win over Avon.

Medina had been scheduled to play Avon last week but Avon cancelled the remainder of its season due to a number of player injuries thus resulting in the awarding of a forfeit win to the Mustangs.

Jake Cotter led the Medina attack during the regular season with 45 goals as Tyler Valley netted 28, Brett Pecoraro 23, Brendan Luthart and Aaron Feltz each with 19 and Mason Lewis 10.

The winner of the Medina vs. Wilson game will visit No. 2 Eden in the quarterfinals.

Friday’s other first round game will have No. 9 Lew-Port at No. 8 Gowada.

The winner will take on top seeded defending champion Akron in the quarterfinals.
