Looking to finish the regular season at the .500 mark, the Medina lacrosse team will host a pair of contests at Vets Park this week.

Currently at 6-8, the Mustangs will host Wilson in a Class C Division game at 5 p.m. Tuesday and then entertain West Seneca West in a non league contest at 5 p.m. Thursday to round out the regular season.

Jake Cotter leads the Mustangs in scoring with 52 goals as Brendan Luthart has 26, Tyler Valley and Mason Lewis 23 each and Coby Albone 19.

Battling to earn a Genesee Region League Division 2 title, the Lyndonville softball team begins a busy stretch of five league contests in as many days on Monday at Elba. The Lady Lancers handed the Lady Tigers their only league loss to date. The Lady Tigers are currently 9-1 in G-R action.

The Niagara-Orleans League tennis title will be determined by two matches season ending matches this week – Albion vs. Akron on Monday and Medina vs. Wilson on Wednesday. Defending champion Albion and Medina are currently tied for first place at 10-1.

In the N-O baseball title race, Roy-Hart can claim outright possession of its first league title since 1953 by winning one of its two remaining games. Currently at 10-2, the Rams, which have already clinched at least a tie for the title, visit Medina on Monday and host Newfane on Wedneday.
