Medina stickmen down Silver Creek

Jumping out to a 6-3 first quarter lead, Medina went on to defeat Silver Creek 17-10 at Vets Park this afternoon to remain undefeated in Class D Division competition at 3-0 (4-0 overall).
Jake Cotter scored 4 goals and Coby Albone and Mason Lewis each added 1 to spark Medina in the opening period.
The Mustangs went up 10-3 at the half, as Lewis netted a pair of second period goals, and 14-8 at the three-quarter mark.
Silver Creek did pull to within 14-10 in the fourth period but Medina answered with goals by Brendan Luthart, Mike Carson and Christian Silversmith to put a lock on the victory.
Cotter finished with a total of 6 goals, Luthart 4, Lewis 3 and Albone 2. Luthart also had 4 assists.
The Mustangs will next host Akron at 7 p.m. Friday.
